Osteopathy Consultations
We want you to have a long term solution to your injuries, not just short term pain relief Book your Initial Osteopathy sessionWhat makes us different?
The aim of our Osteopathy sessions is not just to relieve your short-term pain. We really want to drill down and determine the cause of your issues so you can take the ultimate step of managing your injury in the long term.
All of our sessions start with a thorough examination of not just the area of injury, but the surrounding areas that might either have an influence on the pain or contribute to the biomechanics of the area.
For example, to get to the bottom of a back injury, it is important to not just assess and treat the lower back, but to have a good look at the hips and pelvis. Both of these areas can have a direct influence on the lower back and have to be addressed for long term recovery.
Initial Osteopathy Consultation
Your initial Osteopathy assessment at MD Health involves a complete analysis of your injury or pain. This is extremely important as the biomechanical effects from one area may be contributing to another.
Following your assessment our clinicians will design a detailed treatment plan and recommendations specific to your needs. They will go through the issues in detail, including a written treatment plan letter e-mailed to you within 24 hours.
Treatment is always specific and tailored, and will often be a combination:
– Exercise, including Clinical Exercise and Pilates
– Hands-on treatment
– Home exercises
depending on your needs
Most conditions take longer than 1 session to make a significant change, therefore the clinician will recommend either:
– The number of session and the time frame to get your desired outcome
OR
– If it is likely to take more than a few sessions, we would usually recommend commencing our Clinical Exercises and Pilates program, which is usually cheaper and better for long term outcomes.
Subsequent Consultations
In the follow-up consultations will implement the plan designed in the initial consultation. This means that we get straight into it, no rest. Straight into the exercises you need to do, the treatment you need and the homework you need to do to get the outcome you want
Although we follow the plan, if we see that progress is not morning in the right direction, we will either re-evaluate the condition or send for further investigation and testing as needed. The decision is based on what is the best outcome for you.
If it is likely to take more than a few sessions, we would usually recommend commencing our Clinical Exercises and Pilates program. This is usually cheaper and better for long term outcomes.
