Isometric neck contractions - Exercise Sheet

Resisted Flexion (Nodding)

1. With your palm on your forehead, push your forehead into your hand as if you are nodding, but resist the movement with your hand.

 

ISO Neck Contraction - 1

Resisted Lateral Flexion (Ear to Shoulder)

2. With your palm on the side of your head, push your head sideways as if you were trying to get your ear to your shoulder. Resist the movement with your hand.

ISO Neck Contraction - 2

Resisted Extension (Looking Up)

3. With your palm on the back of your head, push your head backwards as if you were trying to look up to the sky. Resist the movement with your hand.
